About Us

The Purpose of Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Christ. We will provide significant worship, teach God's love, and provide Christian nurture both in and beyond the local church.

A Word from our Pastor, Rev. Truman Stagg

Welcome to Nolley Memorial UMC! I am so glad that you have visited us on the website, and I look forward to welcoming you in person. I like to think of Nolley as the downtown church with the small town folks. Nolley is a welcoming place to come and meet Jesus with God's people. We would consider it an honor to welcome you into our church family. I  have served as pastor at Nolley since July, 2016. I also have the privilege of serving as pastor at the Belah UMC and Eden UMC. I am a native of Rayne, LA. I have been serving as a local pastor in the LA Annual Conference since 2001. My wife Katherine and I love to travel, play with plants, and play grandparents.

Music

Chancel Choir

Music is an integral part of Christian worship.  Psalm 98 urges us to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. "

We are blessed to have a vibrant music service under the direction of our Music Director, Gail Russell, and our extraordinarily talented pianist, John Buckhalter.  Our Chancel Choir provides an uplifting and joyful complement to our worship service and their special music services at Easter and Christmas are a glorious gift of music to the Lord.

Youth Choir

There can scarcely be a more joyful noise than the voices of children.

Our Youth Choir is led by Cynthia Kendrick.   Our Youth Choir is open to all children and their  contribution to our music and worship services are as welcome and enjoyable as their enthusiasm is boundless.
